Pope sends condolences in light of Margaret Thatcher's death

April 9, 2013. (Romereports.com) Pope Francis sent his condolences to the U.K, in light of the recent death of Margaret Thatcher, the country's former prime minister. The telegram was sent to the office of the current prime minister, David Cameron.
The message highlighted Thatcher's Christian values, her promotion of religious liberty and her commitment to public service.
The Pope also expressed his spiritual closeness to Thatcher's family, and British people as a whole.
Back in September 2010, when Benedict XVI visited the UK, he met with many politicians at the London's Westminster Abbey. Among those leaders was the so called 'Iron Lady.”
