Marching to Promote a Culture of Life
Posted on 8:19 PM by Unknown
May 13, 2013. (Romereports.com) About 80,000 people made it to St. Peter's Square on Sunday. Tens of thousands of them were taking part in Italy's Pro-Life March. One of them was American Lila Rose, president of Live Action.
“What Live Action does is we go undercover into abortion clinics to show all the abuses,” said Lila Rose, the President of Live Action.
To actually get to St. Peter's Square, they marched all the way from Rome's Colosseum. Europeans, Africans and some Americans joined in. Even the Pope himself, who personally greeted some of the marchers, thanked the group for defending the unborn.
POPE FRANCIS
“This initiative titled 'One of Us,' guarantees the legal protection of the embryo, protecting human life from the very start.”
The main goal is to outlaw abortion both in Italy and abroad. Organizers say to make that happen, they need to be outspoken, even if it makes some people uncomfortable. Father Marcel Guarnizo was one of the speakers at the march.

“I think marching is the beginning. We can do much more. They cannot fight abortion in the abstract.”
LILA ROSE
Live Action, President
“Abortion has done anything but empower a woman. Abortion has turned a woman against herself. It has put her in a position of powerlessness.”
Organizers say, the pro-life movement has grown in the last few years, despite the fact that it gets little attention in the mainstream media. But they say more still needs to be done.

“Our silence is becoming deafening.”

“This is not yet another issue in our Doctrine. This is something that is fundamental to our faith, to see the dignity and even God in the child, in it's weakest form.”
Now they want to encourage others to promote a culture of life, not only in parishes, but out in society.
